Brittany Cartwright Reveals Major Intel on Her “Private” Dating Life

The Valley’s Brittany Cartwright is getting real about her personal life as her and Jax Taylor’s divorce inches closer to being finalized.

The single mother of one sat for fellow cast member Lala Kent’s Untraditionally Lala podcast, confessing, “I don’t feel like I’ve been dating dating,” despite her brief romance with Brandon Hanson. In fact, she “kind of forgot Brandon existed.”

“I hate that I just said that, but I forget that I actually was in a relationship whenever I was just talking [to him]; I didn’t mean ‘I forget,’” she clarified in the Feb. 8 episode, adding that the romance was “very short-lived.”

However, she anticipates things on the dating front may change once a judge seals the estranged Vanderpump Rules couple’s divorce. As Brittany continued, “Honestly, I think once my divorce is final, it’s going to open new doors for me in a weird way. A lot of stuff I do is in private.”

Podcast guest and fellow The Valley cast member Janet Caperna chimed in to say she was “proud” of Brittany for setting a high bar for herself as far as dating goes, and that Brittany had been better at recognizing “red flags” in potential partners.

When are Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor getting divorced?

It’s been a year and a half since Brittany filed for divorce from Jax, and although she hoped to have the divorce finalized by now, they’ve faced delays in legal proceedings.

“The hardest thing about the actual divorce is just that it keeps getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back,” she revealed on the Jan. 27 episode of her When Reality Hits podcast. For her part, she said things were “good to go” but hadn’t anticipated such an uphill battle when it came to crossing all the Ts and dotting all the Is.

“I’ve got everything in now, so I am good to go,” Brittany continued. “But, in the beginning, it was so strange, all the stuff that you have to do that I didn’t realize. You have to get every single file, bank accounts. I mean, everything you can possibly imagine has to be in and ready, and I have all that stuff in, but if the other person doesn’t, then it just keeps getting delayed and delayed.”

How are Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor co-parenting their son, Cruz Cauchi?

As Jax continues to place his focus on his sobriety and mental health struggles after stepping away the series, both parents continue to navigate their co-parenting journey when it comes to 4-year-old Cruz Michael Cauchi. As Brittany said in the aforementioned episode of her podcast, “It depends on the day, it depends on the mood.”

This said, she reported an improvement on the parenting front on the Jan. 13 episode of California Live, stating that although Jax “definitely loves his son … I just get things done.”

In the meantime, she’s “thriving” as a single mom.

“My son is so amazing, and I feel like … I always wanted to be a mom,” Brittany said. “He’s so cute. He is my little everything; he’s my best friend, and, you know, honestly, I just love having him with me all the time. I just love it.”

She shared an additional update on Cruz to her Instagram Stories in February, writing, “My baby is getting so big.”

A timeline of Brittany Cartwright’s dating life following her split from Jax Taylor

About one year after filing from divorce from Jax, as heavily featured in Season 2 of The Valley, Brittany confirmed being in a relationship with a new man, later identified as Brandon Hanson, an old friend from Kentucky. Photos of the two of them, romantic trips to Mexico, and cast members’ approval of Brandon spurred dating rumors galore, though Brittany said they were “not technically boyfriend and girlfriend just yet.”

In October, about two months after Brittany announced their situationship, Brittany revealed things had run their course.

As Brittany explained, “We were very good friends before we started dating. It was kind of like a whirlwind relationship. It went into the public way sooner than we ever would have wanted it to. We still care a lot about each other. It ended amicably, but I just cannot do the long distance.”

She later told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea that she was content with the breakup, stating, “I love being single.”
