However, during The Valley After Show, he shared that Kristen knew exactly what kind of ring she wanted because she had previously shared the same ring to her ex-boyfriend, Brian Carter.

“She knew what she wanted,” Luke tells Danny. “She did show me a picture at one point that she showed Carter years before.”

To clear up any confusion about Kristen wanting the same ring she once showed an ex, Luke clarified that he made sure it wasn’t the “exact same one.”

“It’s not the exact same one,” he laughed. “She told me, ‘I used to have a big board,’ or whatever, so ‘Let me see if I can find a picture of something I sent at some point.'” Luke, who was sitting next to Danny, agreed that it was “the best” that Kristen didn’t make it difficult by already knowing what she wanted.

Luke, had photos to help him pick the perfect ring. When meeting with Kyle Chan in Episode 6, he also knew exactly what would make Kristen happy. “You know what Kristen likes. We’ve talked about this,” Luke tells the celebrity jeweler.

Luke Had A Budget For Kristen’s Engagement Ring

During his trip to Kyle Chan’s jewelry store with Danny, Luke revealed that Kristen had asked him to stick to a budget for her engagement ring. She specifically requested that it not exceed $10,000 — still a significant amount for the average American. But the gesture made it clear that Kristen valued meaning over price when it came to the ring.

“Kristen flat out told me that she will chop my ba**s off if I spent more than $10,000 on a ring,” Luke told the cameras. However, Luke was seen looking at an emerald cut ring that went over Kristen’s budget. The ring was $14,000. “That’s a statement saying I wanna look like I have more money than I do,” he joked.

During his appearance on The Valley After Show, Luke shared that while some men might ignore their future spouse’s ring budget, he appreciated that Kristen didn’t want him to spend an arm and a leg on it.

“You know what? I completely agree with Kristen’s take on it. Like, that is a lot of money for a little ring on her finger and it’s about what it means versus how much it cost,” he shared.

Fans of Vanderpump Rules may recall Tom Schwartz visiting jeweler Kyle Chan in Season 4 to shop for an engagement ring for Katie Maloney.

In the episode, Danny asked Luke if he had a timeline of when he planned on proposing to Kristen. “I plan this year, at some point this year,” he shared.
