Scheana Shay Divulges Who Was the Best—and Worst—Celebrity Hookup

If anyone is going to give you names, it’s Scheana Shay. The Vanderpump Rules star drops by Girls Gotta Eat, but arrives in complete control of her story, which she shared in great detail in her memoir, My Good Side, now available wherever you get your books.

When Ashley Hesseltine asks how it feels to steer the narrative, she answers that it feels great and that it was time to “take back the reins, tell it in my words with my editing control.”

For Shay, the point of releasing her memoir was to tell her story, her way.

About the book, Greenberg says they loved “hookup stories and tea and naming names,” and admits, “We couldn’t get enough of it.”

The memoir everyone’s talking about

Shay’s book includes a section about her pre-marriage dating life that has become the stuff of group chat legend. The hosts called it “one of the funniest, most unhinged, best tea paragraphs ever,” featuring a roster that includes actors, athletes, and musicians.

The conversation covered everything from a viral headline about John Mayer (“I think exactly what I said in the book is that it seemed like he was really into phone sex”) to her weekly situation with Criminal Minds star Shemar Moore. When pressed for specifics about her experiences, Shay didn’t hold back—naming both her best (Shemar) and most disappointing encounters.

When Greenberg asks, “Can you tell us who was the least generous lover? Room for improvement,” Shay delivers another one-word headline: “Adrian.”

That would be Adrian Grenier, of The Devil Wears Prada and Entourage fame, and current husband of Jordan Roemmele, with whom he shares two children (and a Texas ranch!). Shay clarified that the hookup was a “one and done” situation and that they were awkwardly fumbling around the Mondrian during their one-night love affair.

Pressed on whether she’d ever go back for seconds, she draws a clear boundary: “I mean, yeah, I’m married, so I can’t even think about that.”

How her husband reacted

Curious how this plays at home? Shay says, “Yeah, [husband Brock Davies] outed me at my live podcast show, like, a year and a half ago, about Shemar in front of a whole live audience, like, 250 people.” She laughs that he kept fishing for the name before she decided, “I’ll put it in the book.”

And in true couple energy, Davies didn’t even clock the name at first; Shay says, “He didn’t even know Shemar’s name. He just knew him from all of the S.W.A.T. billboards.”

Of course, Shay had all these hookups before she was married, which is more than Davies can say.

The roster and a little respect

For those scanning the chapter like an IMDb rabbit hole, the hosts read the roll call out loud and then underscore the tone. Hesseltine notes, “You didn’t disparage anybody,” aside from pointing out that Eddie Cibrian “lied to you,” which is already a matter of record.

When the conversation turns to recommendations, Shay offers a soft place to land: “I would say Jesse Metcalf is an absolute doll. He’s a great guy.”

For anyone who needs the quick grab, Greenberg sums up the vibe as “hookup stories and tea and naming names.” Scheana Shay obliges with just enough detail to keep it spicy without turning mean.
