Kensington Palace Releases NEW VIDEO of Catherine At Balmoral As Princess Prepares Powerful Message
The wider royal family has gathered at Balmoral Castle in the Scottish Highlands in the late summer for generations, and the Princess of Wales is currently spending her summer break out of the public eye with her husband, Prince William, and their three children.
Kensington Palace said today that Princess Catherine is gearing for an exciting face-off with Prince William amid her new summer episode finally releasing. Although the details of their family time are kept private, the Princess’s message hints that they’re spending time together outdoors.
As the patron of England Rugby, the Princess of Wales is set to take center stage at the 2025 Women’s World Cup, commencing on the 22nd of August, 2025. This update came just a week after England’s women’s rugby team, the Red Roses, announced their squad for this year’s World Cup.
To note, she and her husband William’s rugby rivalry became the subject of a joke back in 2023 with the future king’s witty remark ahead of a Six Nations match between England and Wales. William quipped,
“It’s going to be a very tense journey home. If we win today, my wife won’t speak to me. It will be a tense evening.”
Stay tuned to see more updates on her work and the royal family’s summer activities.
The Princess launched the series in spring as a celebration of the changing seasons across the UK — a reminder and reflection of the beauty and complexity of the human experience. The new segment, titled Summer, focuses on the beauty and delights of the season, capturing its warmth and joy.
In the upcoming episodes, the Princess will focus on the other two seasons: Autumn and Winter. It features a group of ballet dancers in the film — students from the Royal Ballet School — filmed in Richmond Park. Each of the dancers also performed in the Princess’s carol service in 2024.
Posting a personal note as the caption, signed “C” for Catherine, she shared:
“Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship. It has never been more important to appreciate the value of one another and of Mother Nature. Here’s to Summer.”
While neither Princess Catherine nor Prince William appear in the film, the video is narrated by Catherine as she reads a moving script about enjoying all that summer has to offer with friends and family by our sides.
In the voiceover to the video — showing clips of bees buzzing, people gardening, children playing, and more — Princess Catherine says:
*”Summer is the season for abundance. Just as the flowers bloom and the fruits ripen, we too are reminded of our own potential for growth. It is the time to ignite our inner fire and explore our own creativity, passions, and dreams.
As we bask in the sunlit hours, friends and families come together — playing, connecting, being present, embracing the joy to be found in even the most fleeting moments and shared experiences.
Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship. So open your hearts, sing, dance, play. The days are still long, so simply love and be loved.”*
Growing up in the countryside, the future queen has always enjoyed promoting the healing power of nature. She worked closely on a Back to Nature garden at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019 and has used her long relationship with the Scouts to focus on enabling children and young people to experience the outdoors.
Her husband, William, has previously campaigned for social media giants to take more responsibility for their platforms and spoken of his concern that an entire generation is growing up on their phones. This theme has also shaped her charitable work — engaging with children in nature through the Natural History Museum and supporting hospice care through East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and, more recently, Ty Hafan in Wales.
It is understood that the Princess of Wales is keen to spotlight the beauty of the changing seasons in the UK and, in doing so, remind everyone of the benefits of spending time in nature — wherever they live.
Catherine has been seen in new photographs from an unannounced outing in June when she visited the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. The royal was wearing a forest green set — the Kona Dickey jacket by Veronica Beard (£299, discounted from £748) and the brand’s Marbo pants (£448).
Her stylish jacket was buttoned up to show off its double-breasted silhouette, with the sleeves casually scrunched for a more relaxed look. The trousers featured a tapered waist and wide legs to enhance her statuesque frame. She paired the set with a silk-blend tank top by Joseph.
For a quiet-luxury look, Catherine kept her jewelry minimal — wearing just the Trinity earrings in white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold by Cartier (£1,630). Her glossy brunette locks were styled in her signature waves with plenty of volume at the root.
