Ariana Madix Opens Up About ‘the Last Thing’ Tying Her to Ex Tom Sandoval and Clears Up Online Rumors

Ariana Madix is feeling “great” after selling the home she shared with ex Tom Sandoval, which sparked a two-year-long legal battle in Los Angeles court.

The Love Island host, 40, joined Katie Maloney and Dayna Kathan for the May 20 episode of the Disrespectfully podcast to promote the upcoming season of the hit reality show. During the conversation, the podcast hosts were quick to ask for a status update on the sale of Madix’s former California property.

“I feel like there’s a couple more Docusigns for me somewhere in my email,” the Vanderpump Rules alum says. “So I don’t want to like jinx anything but I’m pretty sure it’s closed.”

She adds: “I signed a Docusign like yesterday, so that’s why I get very like- ‘Where’s the money in my account?’”

Representatives for Sandoval did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The comments come over two months after Sandoval, 43, claimed in a March 3 episode of Watch What Happens Live that “the house is going on the market.”

During the interview, Madix says the house was largely “out of sight, out of mind” as she had already moved her belongings elsewhere. Plus, she says, she’s “had my own house for a while.”

“I wanted to get my money out of it so that I could invest that money somewhere else, and I think that was really the last thing,” she says of her physical ties to Sandoval. “It is kinda just one of those things where you’re like, ‘Oh yeah, I gotta take care of that.’ Or, ‘Oh yeah, this still is going on.”

She adds: “So it’s nice that it’s sold and I’ll get my investment.”

Madix and Sandoval’s shared home made headlines after Madix filed a lawsuit in January 2024 asking for a “partition by sale,” which meant the court would sell the house and split the proceeds.

In Sandoval’s February 2024 response, he alleged Madix failed “to state sufficient facts to state a cause of action” against him and thus felt a partition of the home should not be granted.

The legal battle ended after representatives for Madix filed a notice of settlement in the entire case against Sandoval in January 2026. The document, obtained by PEOPLE, did not outline details of the agreement, but stated the “dismissal” is contingent on the “satisfactory completion of specified terms.”

The settlement came nearly three years after the Vanderpump Rules stars ended their romantic relationship on March 1, 2023. The couple called it quits after nine years together following allegations that Sandoval cheated on Madix with their co-star Rachel “Raquel” Leviss.

On the Disrespectfully podcast, Madix also set the record straight about rumors swirling about potentially unfavorable terms of the settlement.

“I see people online who think that I’m not getting any money from the sale. Uh, yes I am. Or that I had to pay his HELOC loan. No I don’t, never did,” she claims. “Said I wouldn’t and I didn’t.”
